Do I Miss You? | Poem

Do I miss you?
Yes I do
I always believed
There won’t be a time
When I have to depart

Do I miss you?
Yes, when I sing
You were the one
Who could listen to me
By not saying a thing

Do I miss you?
Yes, when I cook
When you played the DJ
For the day
And gave me that adorable look

Do I miss you?
Yes, when I write
You made me think of our love
You gave me reasons to think
And act bright

Do I miss you?
Yes, when I go to bed
Lying in your arms
Hiding my head
Cuddling till you sleep

Do I miss you?
Yes, when I open the door
Welcoming you with
My arms wide open
To embrace like we had never been before

Do I miss you?
Yes, I do and I did back then
When you didn’t believe in me
I told you the creepiness
Has made our home its den

Do I miss you?
Yes, I want you
To be right here with me
In this moment where
I have so much to share

Do I miss you?
Yes, when it’s dark
And I see people returning to their homes
I miss you when you are not there
To guide me the path

Do I miss you?
Yes, when I take a walk
Yours was the only hand
I held firm to not let our lives
Become prey to the hawk.

Do I miss you?
Yes, as hell
But when I stayed
In your house
I could only hear a knell.
